EIF Impact Fund Series - 1A sponsored by Planner India (P) Limited has recently got registered with SEBI as an AIF Category I Fund, under sub-category of Social Venture Fund with a corpus of INR 100 crore. The transaction is also significant as out of 268 AIFs already registered with SEBI, only 7 were operating as Social Venture Funds, EIF being the most recent is 8th Social venture Fund in form of AIF.
About Planner’s Social Venture Fund
EIF Impact Fund - 1 is formed with an objective to invest in Social Sector impacting projects in tier II and III cities and districts across India, the prime focus of Fund shall be towards eliminating poverty, generating employment and creating institutions to support the human capabilities. The sectors specifically identified by the Fund are:
i. Agro-energy & Agro Supply Chain
ii. Financial Inclusions
iii. Healthcare in tier II & III Cities
iv. Affordable housing finance etc.
v. Education and Skill development Centre.
The Fund will invest nearly 75% of its assets/funds in securities/instruments of the entities engaged/involved in these identified sectors.
